There is an old saying imarketti1, don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see! It just may apply in this case.

There is video footage that was produced by an eyewitness at the time of this tragedy occurring dumb ass recording the two officers using unnecessary force on this young man. I never had the privilege of meeting the young man taken unjustly by these authority abusing ingrates however, I am a part of the victim's family so as it stands these officers shot and unjustifiably killed Steven Askew and my heart and prayers go out to him. God took another soldier home. By the way have a little respect would you "no mercy" or shut the hell up and actually read the facts. There was a weapon that was found in the backseat of his car however he had a valid permit to carry it, henceforth making what these officers did to him callous and reckless. These authority abusing murderers are going to pay sincerely for their insolence and injustice and will smile with mirth when I see these officers face punishment, they need to pay.

IF he had a criminal record, he could NOT legally carry a weapon. IF he did point a gun at them, then he WAS as fault, & was not "murdered". LEO's know to protect themselves & not 'take chances'. They can't protect others if they get shot.

No he did not possess any type of criminal record however he was permitted to carry a concealed weapon due to the fact that he had a permit to carry one in the state of Tennessee. He was a law abiding citizen of Memphis and was unjustifiably killed. Even if he did possess a criminal record that doesn't even come close to being a legitimate excuse for officers murdering him.
