MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - FedEx customers are raising eyebrows about the class action lawsuit filed against the company. The Memphis-based shipping giant is accused of systematically overcharging customers.

A federal judge ordered the release of internal emails where a sales executive complained about the company's business practices.

The lawsuit claims FedEx overcharged as much as four dollars for each of the millions of packages delivered.

Now customers are thinking about taking their business elsewhere.

“Clearly the only option is not to do business with them. Enough people don't do business with them, they'll stop doing it because in the end it'll cost them money,” said Nick Treadwell.

FedEx says the emails don't tell the whole story and it will continue to fight the allegations in court.

Frayser, that used to be true but the USPS fees are through the roof. For example, I went in yesterday and they wanted $48 for a medium sized box without insurance. I went up the street to UPS, and they charged me $28 and it included insurance. I wish I could recall the difference in prices between FedEx and USPS more specifically, but I do know USPS is SO much more than it used to be. It was once the least expensive alternative.

I have never understood the fascination with this company, the Postal Service offers the same services for a third of the cost....
