MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) – A former Memphis restaurant owner is in trouble with the law once again. Wendell Price can't seem to pay what he owes the state of Tennessee. He was arrested in Texas and transferred to Shelby County. From tax evasion, to fights with local business owners with Price it's simply one thing after another.

Price is the former owner of “World Beat Grill” which was located on South Main Street. Both the IRS and the state of Tennessee filed several tax liens against his business. Not only had that, his landlord, a former worker and a company that installed his kitchen equipment sued him in civil court, claiming he didn't pay them.

In May of 2009 he was arrested for the first time for tax evasion and indicted on 14 felony counts. Tennessee investigators said he was collecting sales tax, but not giving all of the money to the state.

He was given a three year suspended sentence, granted diversion and placed on probation. As a part of the deal he had to repay the state more than $31- thousand dollars, but he didn’t pay up.

Price was actually the star of a Food Network show back in 2003. At one point he even catered events for former president Bill Clinton along with celebrities like Denzel Washington.
