GERMANTOWN, TN - From the three point line, David Andrews can't be beat. 40 percent of the time he makes the shots, statistically better than LeBron James and most of the NBA.

At Germantown High School, the coach of his freshman team wasn't so sure David should play at first because he has Down Syndrome and they were trying to hold onto a near perfect record for the season.

Coach Wes Crump said, "I would have kids come to me saying, 'Hey coach, when can we get David in the game?"

Then there was the game where the team had a good enough lead and the coach finally put David in. He gets the ball, takes a shot from the corner, and scores as the crowd erupts.

And just as the crowd was losing its mind, the kid who had planned on warming the bench all year long scored again.

He was now playing in every game. A few nights later he was starting the game.

David's father, Dr. Rad Andrews, said, "We have always, from way back, been an incredible believer that God doesn't make any mistakes."

David and his team went on to win the county championship, and they were honored at their school for their excellence.

"The inspiration, like him coming in the game and scoring, it's good for the whole team," said David's teammate Kensen Carmichael.

"Our team went 22 and one and won the county championship and that's all great, but keeping David on my team was the best decision I made, all year," said Coach Crump.
