MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A skull and several bones were found at a landfill in south Memphis Thursday afternoon.
They were discovered by a landfill employee just after 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 24 at the South Shelby Landfill on Malone Rd south of Shelby Drive.
Memphis homicide detectives and the Medical Examiner were on the scene for several hours but did not release many details, other than the skull appears to be that of an adult.
Employees do not go to the area where the remains were found very often, so it's not yet known how long they may have been there.
The landfill is used for both residential and commercial waste.
