According to the Shelby County Fire Department, Firefighters responded to a call at the Camden Grove Apartments in Cordova just before 2:45 a.m. on Saturday March 16th. A total of 17 residents were affected by the fire.
Jeremy Turner, a resident of the apartment community along with his wife and children, works for the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County as the Facility Manager.
The Turner family was able to escape the second story apartment without any injuries, but Alexis Amorose, the Executive Director for the Humane Society, says the family lost nearly everything in the fire. The Turners now face even more challenges with the recent addition of a third child.
Just one day after the apartment fire, Turner's wife gave birth to a six-and-a-half pound baby girl. Seren Turner entered the world around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 17th.
The family is now humbly asking for help from anyone who wants to give.
The two young boys are in need of clothes, as well as the newborn. The older son, age 5, wears a 5T. The younger son can wear a 3T or 4T. They also need gift cards to help with extra gas expenses, furniture, a baby crib, blankets, and anything that a newborn baby would need.

The Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
