Husband Charged in Cordova Domestic Shooting

MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A Cordova man has been charged with shooting his wife early Tuesday morning.

Shelby County Sheriff's deputies were called to the 1000-block of Links View East around 4 a.m. on Tuesday, February 26. When they arrived on the scene, the victim was being treated for a gunshot wound near her shoulder by a family member. She was transported to the MED in non-critical condition.

The husband, 61-year-old Charles Rice, told investigators he was confronting his wife about having an affair because she had contracted an STD. According to arrest records, he admitted to threatening her with a gun and shooting her when the argument escalated.

Rice was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault/Domestic Violence. He is currently being held without bond at the Shelby County Jail.

This sure sounds out of whack. But then again, maybe people in Cordova clean their guns at 5 or 6:00 in the morning.Better look at his one really well!
