MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A body found at McKellar Lake Monday morning has been identified as a man who went missing while fishing there Saturday afternoon.
Memphis police responded to reports of an unattended boat on McKellar Lake near President's Island around 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 18. Investigators found the truck used to tow the boat at Riverside Park Marina and traced it to the owner, 39-year-old Nehemiah Crenshaw of Memphis.
Officers learned that Crenshaw had left to go fishing at McKellar Lake around 5 a.m. Saturday and never returned home.
After an extensive search, a body was found at the mouth of the Mississippi River at McKellar Lake just before 9 a.m. on Monday, August 20. The body was positively identified as Nehemiah Crenshaw and the cause of death was ruled by the Medical Examiner's office as an accidental drowning.
