JACKSON, TN (abc24.com) - Twenty people were injured and a Memphis teen was killed after a shooting at a club in Jackson, Tennessee early Sunday morning.
The shooting happened around 2 a.m. on Feb. 26 at the Karma Lounge on West Main Street in Jackson, which is a popular club for students at Lane College. Jackson Police stated the club was advertising a Lane College, Lemoyne-Owen after-game party. It was not a school-sponsored event, police added.
According to reports from victims, shots were fired after a fight broke out between suspected gang members from Jackson and Memphis. Police determined at least three people were firing handguns.
18 people were shot, two people were trampled and one person was killed. 17 victims were treated and released from the hospital with non-critical injuries. Three victims are still at the hospital. Nine of the victims injured in the shooting were from Memphis.
19-year-old Lecarlos Todd from Memphis was killed.
