MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A female passenger was grazed by a bullet when an SUV opened fire at an intersection in Frayser Monday afternoon.

Memphis police responded to a shooting reported by a driver on James Road around 3 p.m. on Monday, January 7. The driver told officers he and his girlfriend had just picked up her 7-month-old son and were stopped at an intersection on James Rd when a white SUV pulled up beside his vehicle and opened fire. The driver sped away with the SUV still shooting at him in pursuit, striking the car five times.

The driver's back windshield was shot out, and his girlfriend was grazed on her shoulder by one of the bullets and transported to The MED in non-critical condition. The driver and baby boy were not harmed.

Further details are still pending as police investigate the incident.
