NASHVILLE, TN (abc24.com)— Jackpot fever just rose a notch higher with the announcement that the estimated jackpot for Saturday’s Powerball drawing has risen from $310 million to a gargantuan $325 million.
The increase can be attributed to brisk sales across the country and the launch of game changes designed to create Bigger jackpots, Better odds and More millionaires.
“Just as we anticipated, the redesigned Powerball game is quickly providing the huge jackpots that create excitement throughout the state and beyond,” said Rebecca Hargrove, President and CEO of the Tennessee Lottery.“ Players are excited, sales are on the rise, and it’s all for a great cause.”
Saturday’s drawing features the largest Powerball jackpot since August 2007, when the top prize reached $314 million. The jackpot is the third largest in the game’s history.
