MURFREESBORO, TN (abc24.com) - A Memphis woman who stabbed an MTSU basketball player to death will spend nearly three decades behind bars.
Shanterrica Madden was sentenced to the maximum of 25 years for the Second Degree Murder conviction of her roommate Tina Stewart. She also received four additional years for evidence tampering.
Madden killed Stewart in a fight last year in their Rutherford County apartment. The deadly confrontation happened after Stewart called police on Madden for smoking pot.
The two women both graduated from Central High School in Memphis.
