Doesn't it strike anyone as odd that the people who chose to give up the Memphis City Schools Charter and merge with the Shelby County Schools, now want to change the name back to Memphis and to also keep the same people running it. Although it is probably legally impossible to delay the merger it does make sense to wait until the suburbs have started their own municipalities and then merge the remaining. It would save a lot of money and coordination that will in another year be outdated.
