Signs Removed from Contested Memphis Parks

The City of Memphis has removed the official park signs from Confederate Park on Front Street and Jefferson Davis Park on Riverside Drive. It happened Tuesday while many park supporters attended a city council meeting discussing whether to permanently change the parks' names.

As WW said, if you do not like the direction this city is going in, leave Unfortunately General Forrest can't get up. If he could he would be gone.

How about Central Memfrica Park? Just please respectfully remove General Forrest's remains. Maybe the tomb could be replaced by a statue of a baboon.

May I suggest some new names that would be fitting of their new stature? Rape Park. Robbery Park. Danger Park. Enter at Own Risk Park. I kinda like the last one. With all the Killings,Drugs and Prostitution that occur on a daily basis. I am glad these elected represenatives found time in their busy lives to remedy this awful problem that has plagued Memphis for so long.
