Most people are unable to defend themselves from this nonsense. If it's problematic for the above mentioned elected officials with their contacts/money/lawyers, how well will the average person fare? We need more than the scant protection we have now--a LOT more. Another thing--laws need to be more uniform with consequences--no more light sentences for "whitecollar crimes, when we throw people under the jail for stealing a few thousand dollars worth of something!
