Student Airlifted to Le Bonheur after Panola Co. School Bus Shot

BATESVILLE, Miss. (AP) - A bullet struck a Panola County school bus, hitting at least one student in the back.

Authorities told The Panolian a second-grader was transported by helicopter Monday to Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center in Memphis. Witnesses say the child was walking after the incident, suggesting the injury was not critical.

It was unclear whether anyone else was hurt.

The bullet went through a side window of the South Panola bus, carrying about 15 students when the incident occurred.

It was not clear whether the bus was a target or if a stray bullet hit the vehicle. Panola County Sheriff Dennis L. Darby was not immediately available for comment.

The only people that would be anti-gun would be criminals, who want easier victims, or cowards. If somebody wants to kill someone, or something, than can do it with a rock/rope/baseball bat/car, etc. I prefer, & demand, the right to protect my family. The police can only show up later, like pallbearers. "Molon Labe"

Whew......another positive outcome gun incident......guess the guy has to turn in that NRA membership card though......think Mr. Gun-dude Hunter might ought to pay for the Life Flight bill for that terrorized family?
