MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis police arrested a suspect accused of breaking into a Whitehaven hot wings restaurant and stealing chicken, okra, a TV and other items.
Officers were called to Crumpy's Hot Wings on Millbranch at E Shelby Drive around 3 a.m. on Saturday, July 28. Investigators say the suspect broke in through a window and stole three boxes of chicken, a bag of tomatoes, a case of okra, a bag of carrots, two cases of drinks, a safe and a 32" flat screen television. The estimated value of the items is about $1,200. The suspect also caused more than $3,000 in damages.
The stolen items were later found damaged and spoiled behind another nearby business.
Police developed 26-year-old Seneca Toliver as a suspect, who gave a written confession to officers when he was brought in for questioning. Toliver was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Building, Theft of Property over $1,000 and Vandalism over $1,000. He is currently being held at the Shelby County Jail on $50,000 bond.
