MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - An employee at an east Memphis Target store has been arrested for theft, accused of taking more than $2,000 from the register over the past month.

An internal investigation revealed that an employee's cash register was routinely coming up short, totaling $2,320 in losses from November 2 through December 5. According to the affidavit, video surveillance showed employee Tiffany Jackson, 28, removing cash from her register and putting it in her pocket on 17 occasions.

Upon reviewing the evidence provided by store management, Shelby County Sheriff's Office ALERT investigators arrested Jackson for Theft of Property.

Jackson has denied any wrongdoing. She was booked at the Shelby County Jail on December 6 and is scheduled to appear in court December 14.

You have to wait to let the dollar amount to get high enough for a felony . That is the best way to get the courts to actually do anything. Plus now that she has paper on her anyone checking her references will see this and avoid any problems with her.
