I found it very disapointing that you disrespected this poor woman by ignoring the AP style guidelines and constantly referring to her as "he" and "Rodney". Her name was Ebony in life, and that is how we should remember her. I guess it not enough that trans people are ridiculed and murdered on a regular basis, that their deaths are ignored or that they are blamed for their own murders, now the media has to completely erase their identities and degrade their memories with sensationalism.

Its to bad that he couldnt get his life together before he passed away!!!! I remember seeing pimps out there trying to beat these people up because they were transgenderd. All i can say is that i will pray for the family and friends of this victim and pray that memphis police get up off their butts and start getting these prositutes and drugs off the streets for good!!!!

Rodney Whitaker was beautiful and she was only a baby(20-years-old). The Oprah Winfrey show once featured transgendered people as young as 5-years-old who shared their experiences about being born in the wrong body. Physically, they have male body parts. Mentally/genetically they are female. The public need to become more educated on the subject of transgendered people. Whitaker murder is equavalent someone killing a 5-year-old transgendered child.

I really think no one deserves to be murdered by a hiding coward, but however a man who meets a tranny has the the right to know that it is not a woman by birth. Why should Shane decieve us?
