MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Two Memphis police officers are off the job, although the department isn't saying why.

Officers Parker Culver and Marc Henderson are both relieved of duty with pay pending the outcome of an administrative investigation. An MPD release did not state the reason for the investigation, but did thwart rumors that the officers had made threats to Mayor A C Wharton.

"Inaccurate information has surfaced regarding these two officers making threats involving the Mayor. However, this is not true," the release stated. "This is an active investigation, therefore additional details can not be released at this time."

Both officers were assigned to Ridgeway Station.
