MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP, abc24.com) — Shelby County health officials say another person has passed from a heat-related death, the third so far this year.

A 62-year-old woman was found in her home. She had a working air conditioner, but it was not turned on. The temperature inside the home was 91 degrees when the woman was found last week. She had two fans running in the home, but not in the room she was found in.

Health officials say the cause of her death was due to other medical conditions, but the heat was listed as a factor in the death.

Earlier this month, a 51-year-old woman was taken to the hospital on July 2nd after her air conditioner broke and she began to have trouble breathing. She was pronounced dead at the hospital. Cause of death was determined to be complications due to other health issues but heat was a contributing factor.

Also a 60-year-old male, last seen alive on July 3rd, was found on July 5th in his home. There were no utilities connected at the home and it was 95 degrees inside when he was found. Cause of death was determined to be complications due to other health issues but heat was a contributing factor.
