MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Shelby County Sheriff's deputies have charged four people with stealing railroad track.

A sheriff's spokesman said patrol officers spotted the men loading sections of rail into a rental truck Sunday behind the Lakeland Factory Outlet Mall.

Detectives determined the rails were worth about $500 each. There were 18 of them on the truck and another 23 still on the ground.

Deputies arrested 33-year-old Jason Freeman, 42-year-old Rodney Freeman, 38-year-old Markith Bradford and 35-year-old Leon Brown. All are charged with theft of property $10,000 - $60,000.

The department said additional charges could be filed later.
