If you watch the video it says it happened during the last class of the day on Tuesday of this week. I am curious as well about why charges haven't been filed yet but find it interesting that the story notes one of the boys is a basketball player. MASE has a big championship game Saturday, and everyone knows sports are more important than our daughters. This sounds eerily like the police reaction to the case in Steubenville, Ohio if you ask me. Police around the world are notorious for responding insufficiently and slowly to rape accusations, especially when "nice boys" are involved, so Memphis is probably no different. I find the attitude and focus of this story on "I can't believe this could happen here" to be appalling. I was raped when I was 14 by "nice boys" from CBHS as a high school fraternity prank. We've got all kinds of "gangs" in this city and they aren't all in the hood either. This could and does happen everywhere. My heart brakes for this girl. I was 14 once. I know how you feel. Wake up Memphis! This is happening to your daughters, all over town, in the city, county, public, and private schools. Your child's school is no exception and you can't expect the school system to solve this problem for you. Be a parent or mentor. Teach your sons not to rape, not to idly stand by while their friends rape, and not to disrespect women. Check out One Billion Rising if you're inclined to do something about it. Too bad Channel 24 didn't run the story on that last week.

Another reason added to the list that families and parents in Municipalities want to have their own schools with local control.

May I ask, Why in the hell charges have not been filed. This is ridiculous. But, it does sound like Memphis. Some of the boys musu be politically connected.
