MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A grand jury has indicted the man arrested for killing a Memphis police officer.
Alex Haydel is charged with the murder of MPD Officer Tim Warren and the murder of civilian Arthur Warren. The victims were distant cousins but did not know each other.
Investigators say Haydel shot Arthur Warren, the ex-husband of Haydel's wife, during a fight at the Doubletree Hotel in downtown Memphis last July.
Officer Tim Warren was killed while responding to shooting.
Haydel is charged with Aggravated Assault and two counts of First Degree Murder. If convicted, he faces life in prison, life in prison without parole, or the death penalty.
