MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Shelby County District Attorney Amy Weirich announced Tuesday that a 16-year-old accused of fatally stabbing his high school principal has been indicted for First Degree Murder.
In August 2011, 49-year-old Suzette York was stabbed multiple times in a classroom at Memphis Junior Academy in East Memphis. York was pronounced dead at the scene. Police arrested Eduardo Marmolejo for the murder, and in September was charged as an adult for the crime.
Police affidavits stated that Marmolejo had been planning the attack since May, studying tactics on the internet. He told investigators he killed York “because he did not like her and she made him angry,” documents state.
