JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - About 20 people have marched through the northeast Arkansas city where a 21-year-old man was fatally shot while his hands were cuffed behind him in a patrol car.

The march Tuesday in Jonesboro comes the day after police there released an autopsy that listed Chavis Carter's shooting death as a suicide.

The report also said Carter had methamphetamine and other drugs in his system when he shot himself in the right temple.

Carter's family says he was left-handed and questioned how that was possible.

People marching through Jonesboro Tuesday echoed similar disbelief on signs. They marched from the spot where Carter was fatally shot July 28 to the building where the city council meets.

Police say Carter was searched twice, but officers didn't find a gun until after the shooting.

I guess WE will have to start "marching" & "protesting" for every infraction/crime. (This will require folks who are retired/unemployed as it will demand a LOT of free time, due to the frequency of incidents).

Waiting for ANY black people to accept responsibility for their own actions. Stop blaming the white man for your own screwups. He is dead, he killed his inbred self. Drug user and seller...GONE. Next...

They don't want justice, they want revenge. Justice would involve the truth & I doubt that they are willing to accept the truth

Have you ever witnessed a meth head, or crack head that can move in contorsionists positions??? It can easily happen, especially with someone young and flexible. His Family is Definately in Denial!! I know of a 34 year old that got his handcuffed hands from behind his back, in a squad car, under his feet and in front of him. If you don't think this is possible, then you are also wearing blinders. hhmmm

Marcus: What a lower, level of journalism that you have fallen to. This punk was a predator. Just do your research, and ask some people that knew him, BESIDES his family. It's obvious they are trying to generate some kind of lawsuit..... ya think???

come on, does the family really need to question this? He had meth in his system. that says it all right there, second the trend of loose clothing today makes it hard for officers sometimes to find weapons around the waist line. and last what parent isn't going to say that their child was perfect. I am sorry but there are things my parents do not and never will know I ever did.
