MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - The man in charge of a Tipton County non-profit that helps the less fortunate is behind bars, accused of stealing from the organization.

TBI agents arrested 57-year-old Allen Parnelle Brown on Wednesday, November 7, after a grand jury indicted him on theft charges. Brown is the administrator of "Tipton Cares."

Investigators say he's been stealing money from the non-profit since 2008. He's accused of opening a credit card for Tipton Cares in his name. Deputies say he also gave a donated truck to a family member.

Allen Brown is currently being held on $15,000 bond.

This good Christian man is being rail-roaded. Whatever happened to being innocent until proven guilty?

This man was my preacher when I first moved to Tipton County. My Girl Scout troop gave all of our donations to Tipton Cares. This really upsets me. We thought we were helping the less fortunate.
