MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - The Tennessee Court of Appeals issued a judgment Thursday, ordering the Shelby County Election Commission to immediately accept Memphis photo library cards as voter identification.

Last month a judge in Nashville had ruled against the card as a valid form of acceptable identification, and maintained the state requirement to show ID in order to vote was constitutional.

In response the city of Memphis and two voters sued the state, and judges expedited the ruling because early voting for the Nov. 6 election is already underway.

The opinion said the identification requirement is allowed under the state constitution. It also overruled the lower court's ruling by finding that the library cards qualify as government-issued identification.

Can you buy beer with it? Can you buy a pack of kools with it? Can you purchase a firearm with it? If you answered no to any of these questions then it is not a valid ID. How many dead people are checking out books these days?
