MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A teacher at Arlington High School was indicted by a grand jury on December 15, 2011 for the statutory rape of three students.

28-year-old Stacy Hopkins is accused of having sex with two 17-year-old male students and a 16-year-old male student. Arlington High School officials were notified of the allegations in May 2011 when Hopkins' ex-boyfriend called them to report nude photos on her cell phone she had sent to the students.

Hopkins is charged with three counts of Statutory Rape by an Authority Figure and two counts of Soliciting Sexual Exploitation of a Minor by Electronic Means.

If convicted on all counts, Stacy Hopkins faces a maximum sentence of 57 years in prison.

Another Teacher bites the dust. Where were these teachers when I was in school? This must be part of that BUSH..'NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND POLICY'.. she just helped them catch up to there other classmates.

If you're not counted as an adult until the age of 18 in Tn based on some diminished capacity, shouldn't that also apply in criminal cases? We prosecute 16,17 yo's all the time as adults.

Calling this 'rape' is an insult to any person that has truly been brutally violated. The government should be ashamed of themselves for wasting time and money prosecuting consensual sex in the same manner as violent rape. UNLESS they are willing to round up all of our brave TSA agents and charge them with rape....

57 years seems pretty harsh, but having been a teenage boy myself, it is very difficult for me to see much of a crime when a woman has sex with a 17 year old boy. When I was 17, I certainly wouldn't have minded if my attractive teacher sent me nude pics and had sex with me. The only way I can even imagine it being a crime is if she had given the boys STDs. Ironically, if it had been a male teacher with female students I would be furious. Guess I'm sexist.
