MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Police are on the lookout for a robbery suspect who held up a man at gunpoint in midtown Wednesday morning.

Memphis police were called to the Mapco at the corner of Central Avenue and Cooper Street just before 6 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19. The victim said he had pulled up to a gas pump when an unknown black male walked up pointing a black handgun at him demanding money.

The victim saw a police car and motioned to an officer that the suspect had a gun. The suspect then drove off in a silver 4-door car, possibly a Toyota Corolla, with Texas tags headed eastbound on Central. Officers dispatched to the area were unable to locate the suspect.

Anyone with information on this incident should call CrimeStoppers at (901) 528-CASH (2274). You can also submit your tip at 528cash.org, or text the word AWARD to 274637 (CRIMES). You will remain anonymous, and you could be eligible to receive a cash reward.
