Armor-Piercing Bullets Found at North Memphis Drug Raid

A Memphis police officer is still critical at The MED, accidentally shot by a fellow police officer aiming for an attack dog in a north Memphis drug raid. But what was found inside that drug house makes a dog look like the least of the MPD'S worries.

This is not an amour piercing round, it is a high powered round that will go through a bullet proof vest. Big difference.

a .223 is NOT an armor piercing round. It is a rifle round, and police normally wear ballistic vests that are effective against handgun rounds, but not rifle rounds. You'd think that the police would know better, but anything that makes them look more in peril, and the arrested folks more dangerous works for their cause....
