Arson Blamed for 2-Alarm Fire at Vacant Memphis Apartments

MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Investigators for the Memphis Fire Department determined that a 2-alarm fire at a vacant Whitehaven apartment complex early Monday morning.

The fire department was called to the Montero Park Apartments near Winchester Road and Millbranch Road around 1:30 a.m. on April 16. When they arrived heavy fire was visible from the vacant building. It took firefighters approximately 45 minutes to completely knock down the fire.

Eight units were damaged in the fire, causing about $50,000 worth of damage. No firefighters were injured.
