MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - An early Friday morning fire at the Somerset Park Apartments destroyed eight units.
Neighbors say it happens often. Investigators say the fire was intentionally set.
Firefighters got the call just before two o'clock. After they got the flames under control, investigators deemed the building was unsafe. They had it torn down.
In light of the many fires at the complex, Tennessee Arson Hotline flyers were posted around the property. It's enough to keep residents up at night.
“I can't sleep at night because every time I hear a siren my ears are glued open like a hound dog. The first thing we need to do is find out who is setting the fires and why,” said Terry Clark.
Thankfully no one was hurt during the fire. Investigators say there were no witnesses and they have no suspects in what is now an arson investigation.
