MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Quick thinking police helped a local baker avoid disaster when a toppled cake left her stranded on train tracks in east Memphis early Friday morning.
The accident happened around 7 a.m. at the railroad crossing on Perkins near Poplar Avenue. The baker lost control of her SUV when she reached for a falling cake, and became stuck on the gravel on the railroad tracks.
Responding officers notified the railroad company, which was able to stop an oncoming train in plenty of time as the vehicle was towed off the tracks.
