Beale St. Landing to Open Behind Schedule, Over Budget

Finishing touches are underway at Beale Street Landing for this week's visit by the American Queen riverboat. When all is said and done, some $40 million in your tax money will have been spent on the building and its dock.

Too bad it can't be done in time memphis in may, the musicfest, etc.

It already is a huge burden on the taxpayer. I do hope this project will generate some money for the city. I hate that we always seem to be shelling out money for things that really wont bring us any money back. I understand being over budget, that is how everyone gets the lowest bid, but to be twice is much is just crazy. I hope this is nice and brings in some badly needed revenue.
