Seems as though the city gives up financial and service responsibilities to the county (schools, auto inspections, etc.), but still wants to have staffing and administering control, again without financial responsibility. Should be that if you cannot handle it and give it to the County , then you should be out of it and under the guidance of the county in all aspects.

I THINK IT IS A LOAD OF CRAP. IF THESE POLITITIONS DON'T GET OFF THE TAX PAYERS BACK AND QUIT BOWING DOWN BEFORE THE SO CALLED CITY ADMINISTRATION EVERYTIME THEY DECIDE NOT TO PAY OR FRONT SOMETHING ELSE, THAN SHELBY CO IS GOING TO LOOK LIKE A GHOST TOWN. PEOPLE ARE SICK OF IT. LEAVE PEOPLE OUTSIDE CITY LIMITS ALONE AND GO TO WHERE THE REAL PROBLEM IS. THIS IS JUST ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF WHY THERE SHOULD BE ELCECTIONS EVERY YEAR. SPEND, SPEND,SPEND AND THAN FIND SOME WAY TO TAX THE PEOPLE MORE AND CAUSE A MAJOR INCONVEIENCE. THE LAST TIME I LOOKED WE PAY THE CITY MORE THAN WE KEEP. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT.

I had my car inspected at the new station off of Appling Way and it took less than ten minutes at 10 AM on a weekday.
