MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - He’s accused of breaking into a Beale Street nightclub, refusing to leave and attacking a K-9 officer.

Now he’s headed to jail. It happened at one of the most controversial and problem prone clubs in Memphis, Club Crave.

A little before 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29, cops responded to a burglar alarm at Club Crave. Inside they found 54-year-old Kenneth Williams, who refused to leave.

Cops called for back up and surrounded the club. Police say Williams tried to sneak out the back door, but went back inside when confronted by officers.

A K-9 unit helped bring him down, but he didn’t go without a fight. Police say he attacked a K-9 before he was arrested, but those K-9’s are not all bark and no bite.

“The suspect did struggle with the K-9. He grabbed his snout kicked him, shoved him around quite a bit. The suspect was bit once and transported to The MED get checked out,” stated MPD Sgt. Karen Rudolph.

Now Williams is headed to the Shelby County Jail where he will face a burglary charge. The K-9 officer is sore, but expected to be fine. Police say Williams will not face any charges for attacking the K-9.

@RealDeal You are just another racist Neanderthal AKA Devil spreading hate calling this man a it. It's true he did wrong but no one wants to hear your words of hate. The man you call a it is human. You on the other hand are not. Let me break it down for you. Hue = color. You have no color so that makes you non human.

Yet another 'silverback' illustrating their relationship with animals. Not as best friends, but as tools for their entertainment. If it hadn't BEEN committing a crime, it would not have ENCOUNTERED the Police dog. Too bad the dog didn't chew it's n*ts off, so it could not further contaminate the gene pool.

ok 'libertyfirst' & lets do a little review. The suspect burglarized (broke into, unlawfully entered with the intent to steal) a business & you want to claim that he defended himself?? First of all he broke the law, second, he could have given himself up but instead decided to refuse to surrender...I have no sympathy for this moron.

I suspect the suspect did not 'attack' the dog, he defended himself from the dog's attack....
