MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - It was a close call for a man and his adult granddaughter, caught in the crossfire of a drive-by shooting near Memphis International Airport.
The man was driving in the area of East Shelby Drive and Boeingshire around 4:15pm on January 24, 2012 when several bullets hit his car. One went through the headrest of the passenger seat just as his 21-year-old granddaughter bent over to pick up the cell phone she had dropped.
Memphis Police are still piecing the incident together, but investigators believe shots were exchanged between unknown suspects in two other vehicles.
