MILLINGTON, TN (abc24.com)- A Millington chancellor ruled Tuesday that the half cent sales tax increase referendum on the August 2 ballot passed, even though it failed on Election Day by just two votes.

Millington argued that a number of voters in the community of Lucy were given the wrong ballot, and should not have been allowed to vote on the sales tax issue. The chancellor agreed

The sales tax hike would help pay for a Millington municipal school district if a judge rules that municipal districts are constitutional.
