I had the pleasure of meeting, speaking, and briefly working with Mr. Chuck this past summer. He worked with us on a community outreach. The first time I got off of the phone with him, I called several people to exclaim just how much of a blessing the past 35 mintues of my life had been by speaking with him. Not because he was a tv personality, but because he was so full of wisdom and knowledge and was so willing and excited to share. He was sincere, passionate about the children, encouraging to me as a mother, and a true gentleman. He read to children while it was over 100 degrees and that entire day was nothing but smiles whether it be working with us, or working directly with the children. To his family, you have the deepest sympathy from my family. It didn't take long to know that Mr. Charles Scruggs was an extraordinary and great man.
