I am glad to hear the leaders are concerned and that they have plans to teach our youth about the value of life, I feel like there is a serious lacking in this in the city, as a whole. I wish they would have been concerned with it 5 years ago, or maybe even 10(I wasn't here then). There is no easy solution. It's NOT a racial thing, as the other two posters stated. It's not even a poor thing. There are people that need help, but that work that try to do and be better for themselves and their child(ren). I was a young, single mother, I needed help(yes, foodstamps, healthcare, famlies first)...it helped me make ends meet until I could stand on my own. We were struggling just to keep our heads above water, I am thankful for the help, BUT I also busted my tail to get away from the "system" as well! Training, education, honorable police force and stricter laws/harsher punishments would do this city a world of good! I am glad Tony Armstrong thinks the way he does and is concerned enough to put some of this into action. If people are concerned about their neighborhoods falling apart, rally people together, call the police in, report crimes, have a relationship with other parents, etc. One man, nor the police force can do it on their own..it's up to the community to raise above and restore their communities!!

city leaders are concerned over numbers, humm, just now they are concerned? do those leaders live in the bad or good areas of the city? if they did live in bad areas, they would have been concerned years ago. whats the answer? i wish i knew so i could be wealthy. i have to say i would go back to parents, the parents of most blacks today are too young. the kids are having kids, they know nothing about children, really, they know how to have sex, yes, but to be a mom or dad, no. its is crazy, the females want to have 5-6 kids so they wont have to work, get stuff free and never do anything but have more kids, do the hair, the nails and gamble, whatver. some whites are the same way, stop the welfare as the other poster states, maybe thats what needs to occur. if you are young, intend to have a family, run from this town as fast as u can. your parents and family can join you later. leave while u can, dont stay here. its soon going to be detroit.

You can't cure this by treating the symptoms. You have to treat the disease: ILLEGITIMACY in underclass blacks, 70% at last look. Man up and demand that the free stuff that subsidizes and encourages illegitimacy be ended.
