MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - After the Los Angeles Clippers knocked off the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 1 of their NBA playoff series, the trash talking between media in the two cities kicked off.

Commercial Appeal columnist Geoff Calkins took the first shot after he wrote some not-so-nice things about the Clippers and the City of LA last weekend.

So on Tuesday, T.J. Simers, who writes for the LA Times, took shots at Memphis when he said the city "smells like no one showers," and "Elvis is buried forever here and I cannot imagine how upset he must be."

Local radio host Eric Hasseltine called Simers "an arrogant and insensitive jerk." He took exception to a comment Simers made in his column referencing former Grizzlies announcer Don Poier, who died before a Grizzlies game in 2005. Hasseltine accused Simers of talking insensitively about Poier.
