Maybe if all the gangster fools who drive around downtown, with their bass shaking the buildings weren't there to intimidate and terrify each and every tourist, business might improve. Another helpful thing would be if Memphis wasn't the #1 best city to visit if you want to be murdered by a gold toothed black teenager.

I'll wager you're an art student, Jake. Memphis is not a very inviting town to do business in. But who cares?; you can always raise taxes and fees, etc.

Give the art students in Memphis the chance to show their talents by letting them use the vacant windows to display their ideas...might even have a contest with some prize money. Corporate sponsors could furnish supplies. Bet that would give something for tourists and downtown workers to view besides empty store fronts. Nice stroll for new folks on the weekends, see the river, get a nice meal too.

D'oh.....well, getting rid of all the rip-off pay parking lots would be a good start.....there is simply no free parking anywhere downtown. Next, do something abould all the winos & beggars, along with the urine smells everywhere.....just a couple of thoughts.....
