Commissioners Want Mayor To Negotiate School Building Deal

Shelby County Commissioners passed a resolution to give Mayor Mark Luttrell the authority to decide the fate of county school buildings in suburbs that want to start their own school district.

Anyone who thinks taxes won't be increased in favor of MCS is dreaming. What is Martavious talking about??? Aren't government schools a very model of socialism?

I am curious what there is to negotiate. Memphis City Schools (for 40 years) took what they wanted free of charge, every time they annexed an area, right down to the desks and computers in the buildings. That set the standard for all cities to follow.
