Rossville, TN (abc24.com) - He is just 22-years-old, but Rico Fleming has left quite a mark on Fayette County. His rap sheet spans six pages, and with news that he had been arrested in a two-weeks old murder warrant, residents in Rossville were breathing a little easier.
"Oh yea, everybody has been talking about it," said Kim Lewis, who works at a local convenience store in Rossville.
Fleming was arrested Tuesday night in St. Louis. He's one of three people charged in the Christmas Day murder of 16-year-old Derica Patterson. Of the three, Fleming was the last one arrested.
"Man, he was traveling then wasn't he?" said Taylor Leonard, a Rossvile resident.
After more than two weeks of searching for Fleming, even the local police officers were returning to normal work. On the outskirts of town, two officers were tracking speeders with a radar gun.
"Today is pretty slow, but that's good," said Officer Charles Logan with the Rossville Police Department.
"Probably a lot of people feel safer," added Lewis.
Fleming has several warrants in Fayette County, but he'll face the more serious murder charge in Mississippi first.
