MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A Virginia Congressman is calling for a federal investigation into Mo' Money Tax Service, as scores of customers continue to wait for their federal tax returns.
Representative Bobby Scott says he wants the Justice Department to take a look at the delays involving Mo' Money.
Reached by phone on Monday night, Mo' Money co-founder Markey Granberry said the problems that caused the delays have been fixed and Mo' Money was in the process of verifying $22 million in tax returns.
The answer didn't sit well with customers outside Mo' Money's Southaven office.
"Two things in life you don't mess with, my kids and my money, because you'll get hurt by my money," said Natalie Jones.
In what is becoming a familiar scene, Southaven Police responded to the Mo' Money store to deal with angry customers demanding their returns.
"Ya'll know, just look at me, I work at Captain D's for a living ya'll, I need my money," said Jones.
Inside the Jackson Hewitt office in Whitehaven, employees were busy calling clients to let them know their checks were ready.
"We got checks today from the IRS. We got checks 3 times last week, we have no problems," said Janice Forrest, office supervisor at Jackson Hewitt.
Granberry says everything should be sorted out by Friday.
