MEMPHIS, TN – MyEyewitnessNews.com has obtained court documents detailing a transaction between Lorenzen Wright and an admitted associate of accused Memphis drug kingpin Craig Petties. The documents show in 2008, Wright sold two luxury cars, a Cadillac SUV and Mercedes Benz to a man named Bobby Cole. At the time Cole was indicted on drug distribution charges in a case in Atlanta and admitted to FBI agents that he was associated with a drug ring connected to Petties. The cars were ultimately seized by the government.

Wright’s body was found in a field, hundreds of yards away from a road often traveled. His body was behind a group of bushes where black marks remain after days of decomposition.

Memphis Police say Wright, a hometown hero and 13 year NBA veteran was shot to death. Detectives spent the day interviewing several people including Herb Wright, Lorenzen’s father. Herb Wright was met by officers outside the Criminal Justice Center. Investigators also spoke with those who saw Wright days before he went missing.

There are some comments here made saying why so much news coverage on this person's murder, why not report stories about the economy, the housing ordeal, the corruption going on in the government, or the clueless egotistical politician trying to oust a representative of Memphis with a very good track record in an upcoming election? For those who do not like all the news on Mr. Wright can by pass right by the stories & scroll on until you come upon the news deemed worthy to you. But there are many people of this city and across this nation who followed the news with concern for this young man and praying for his well-being out of the respect we happen to feel for him, for the qualities he had not just as a basketball player but as a person & as a family man, which was so very nice when you see pictures of just how close this family was...quality time! I personally want to know the outcome of this story until its finality...the conviction and no-possibility-parole life term or execution sentence!

Any evidence that Mr. Wright knew of the connection between Mr. Cole and Mr. Petties? How about some information in lieu of rumor-mongering.

If half as much effort was put into some other cases in Memphis, the killer city, as is put into this one, there would be no open cases on the books in Memphis. I am so tired of the news media, highlighting all these cases when so many others go untouched. The solve rate of these type of crimes in Memphis is very good, but it is in no part to the publicity that news gives, it is due to the deligence of the Police Department, Sheriffs Dept and state agencies doing a very good job. Lets give credit where credit is due. These constant updates only demeans the efforts of the Dept that is charged with the responsibility of doing this job. Give them time and this case will break, not by the press but by the hard work of those charged with responsibility of solving them. Every little aspect of this guys life will be gone over a dozen times in the press, but the real inveestigation is being done outside the prying eyes of the press. If you need breaking story, how about the overcharging of everyone in Memphis, by the city council and govt offices that are paid to give service you have to fight to get. Since when is it justified to charge 130,000 dollars for one indiv. to do his or her job. Not in this economy, not in this time. Wake up save us from those that would help us, they are finacely killing us here in this town. thats just oldmans point of view

The other day I saw smoke behind this house, lots of smoke but I never saw the fire. Luckily no one was hurt. We can speculate all we want, there is nothing written in stone that one must lose their life because they know a criminal, did not use good judgement or made a mistake. Otherwise we would all be in serious trouble. So people its not really about what happened prior to this sad event but its what happened that makes this a sad event. No one desires to shot be down like a wild animal and (to put it bluntly) left to rot. Whoever did this needs to be brought to justice quickly. So for those who condemn or put this off as someone else's misfortune. Remember we all live in this world together. Making all crimes especially murder our misfortune as well. God have mercy on us all. My thoughts and prayers go out to this family.

I am tired of all this useless news. Get some real information! The man was investigated and was cleared of wrong doing. This is not relevant news! Update us when you have some real news. Like who killed him!

I'm annoyed with all the 'updates' of no information. Get on with life in the big city and inform people when you actaully have some information.

To bad the rest of the story was omitted. Mr. Wright was investigated concerning this sale in 2008 and was cleared of any wrongdoing, so what does this have to do with his death?
