MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A construction worker in DeSoto County was flown to The MED in Memphis after he fell from a ladder into a septic system tank Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred around noon on Tuesday, September 11 at a construction site where a sewer system is being built in Walls, Mississippi. The Desoto County Sheriff's Department, Walls Fire Department and DeSoto rescue squad all assisted in pulling the worker from the 15 foot deep tank by rope.

The rescue took over an hour due to the man's size - an estimated 400 pounds - and he was airlifted to The MED in critical condition. The victim's identity and the extent of his injuries have not been released.
