DESOTO COUNTY, MS (abc24.com) - There's new information on a string of burglaries in DeSoto County, where crooks broke into more than a dozen businesses in Southaven and Horn Lake last weekend.

Now police believe those criminals are responsible for many more crimes, saying they're a traveling ring of thieves who've targeted Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee.

"I think what they do is come in a day or so ahead and map out the locations they plan on burglarizing," says Southaven Lt. Mark Little. "They're probably gone after the last [burglary]."

They struck 13 businesses in DeSoto County last weekend, mainly pay day loan and fast cash shops. The men broke into one business, and then cut through the walls to get into another next door.

"Not counting Horn Lake and Southaven, we know of at least three other jurisdictions hit."

Little says pictures of the three suspects match men Nashville cops want for robberies there. He's working the case with a southern state task force

"They always say the long arm of the law, and it's really true," Little tells abc24.com.

Little thinks these guys are long gone, but hopes by working together cops can jump ahead of the gang.

"We can compile information of all the burglaries we've been able to uncover and map us out a date and location, so we can see which way they're traveling."
