MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Brick by brick, the old emergency room for Le Bonheur Children's Hospital came down the morning of February 7, 2012.

Now the final steps to complete the new hospital can get underway. The demolition makes way for a driveway and front yard for the new Le Bonheur. It's one of the last steps in building a new hospital.

Construction should wrap up by next summer.

Meri Armour, CEO for Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, told abc24.com, "This place, once we tear all of the old buildings down, will actually be our new grand entrance to the new Le Bonheur and we'll go back to our original address, which is 848 Adams Street."

Buildings adjacent to the old emergency room will also be torn down. Le Bonheur moved to the new location in December 2010.
